When a guy compliment with a girl, it always has some meaning behind it.

In a shopping mall : he wants in your sweater.

At the restaurant : He's trying to start a conversation that hopefully ends with him in your sweater.

On the internet : Depends on the anonymity.

Which is means he's probably creeping, but you can't tell for sure.

University : He's need to know where you are, with who, and everything what you are doing right now.

The only thing a men could ask from his girl is to take care of herself when he's not around. Because he is so much worried about you and love you so much.But if in any of those situations said guy is your boyfriend of any amount of time, it changes all of them to the same thing.

Guy is your boyfriend : He means every part of that compliment with all of this heart. He wants you to know that what you mean to him is so much greater than any of the other girls he comes into contact with, that he compliments you with things he knows, when his hearts feels, that are true.

Girl : If you take compliments from the first group of guys and not your boyfriends, it really demoralizes your boyfriend, he's already upset because he KNOWS WHAT THE OTHER GUYS IS DOING and the fact that you are happy about it makes it that much worse. There is a little thing in a relationship called "respect" that goes along with something called "love".

First : It shows that you as he girlfriend don't respect your boyfriend's love for you

And 

Second : it makes it seem like you don't love him like you say you do.

I do to know why some girls feel the need to do this, but it really breaks down the guys who are loving and caring for you. It goes along with the  " I want a 'nice guy'" fallancy. If you want a 'nice guy' all the way up to the point where the nice guy starts talking to you. What happen then ? well 9/10 times the nice guy gets shut out, allowing the "nice guy" to touch you, come in and take what he wants and dump you on the curb. The "nice guy" will treat you like a slut, whore and you will be betrayed. I've seen it many times personally. And it really makes the nice guy think that he can't have a girlfriend because they all shut him out. 

What I'm trying to say that if you have something that is guaranteed to love you for the rest of forever, don't screw it up by pretty much flirting with every guy who can form a coherent sentence that makes you feel good. Because at the end of it, you (girl) will be screwed up for the rest of your life.
